Welcome to the Michigan Maritime Museum Community Forum! To make the most of this resource, let's all observe the following ground rules:
If you are unfamiliar with online forums like this, here are the basics:
You must register in order to have full access to this forum. Guests may read threads but may post replies only in the "Welcome" area.
Thanks and have fun!
- Please limit discussion on this forum to matters that are pertinent to MMM and its activities. "Pertinent" will be interpreted very broadly, but this forum is not the place to debate controversial topics that are unrelated to MMM concerns.
- Please be respectful of other participants and refrain from personal attacks, insults, flaming, trolling, spamming, and profanity.
- Please use your real name. Abbreviations and nicknames are ok, but we should know who you are when you post. You can change your display name by clicking on "profile" and then "modify profile".
If you are unfamiliar with online forums like this, here are the basics:
- The forum is divided into a number of boards according to subject matter.
- Within each board, participants engage in conversations (called "threads") by posting messages. These conversations are "asynchronous", i.e., they are like writing emails or letters and not like a chat room or phone conversation.
- Click on a board to see what threads have been started. Click on a thread to see what messages have been posted. Threads and messages are posted in the order of most recent activity.
- To reply to a message/add to a thread, click "reply".
- To start a new thread, click "start new thread". If someone has already started a thread on a topic you are interested in, you should continue the existing thread rather than starting a new thread on the same topic.
- Posted messages are visible to all participants. You can also send a private message (PM) to a particular participant.
- For more detailed instructions, click on "help".
